| Since 1941, when it was introduced to brave
American paratroopers, the Corcoran® Jump Boot has come
to symbolize the grit and determination of the people who refuse to
be defeated, whether by foreign armies in war, or by harsh weather
conditions in the outdoors.
In the darkest days of the War, when the prospects for the Allied victory seemed grim, the Joseph Corcoran® Shoe Company went head to head with other boot manufacturers to create a combat boot that would literally turn the tide. To get behind enemy lines, the United States Army Paratroopers needed to count on a well-equipped force that could parachute into unknown conditions. |
U.S.
Soldiers needed more than just weapons to win most battles, and the Corcoran® Jump Boot
always gave our paratroopers the edge.
"The Corcoran® Jump Boot literally changed the world," says John Leanard, president of the Brockton Historical Society, home of the AMERICAN SHOE AND BOOT MUSEUM. "It enabled the Army to move quickly and efficiently in battles that had to be won." The Original Corcoran® Jump Boot kept this nation on its feet through the long, grueling days of World War II. There is a place of honor in the Museum for the Corcoran® Jump Boot, and in the hearts and minds of any Paratrooper who ever saw action in the best Jump Boot yet! |
